A winter solo expedition across the Norwegian mountain plateau Hardangervidda
YEAR: 2016
LOCATION: Hardangervidda – Norway
PARTICIPANTS: Mateusz Waligóra
TRANSPORTATION: on foot (with snowshoes on)
During the solo walk across the biggest mountain plateau in Europe – Norwegian Hardangervidda, I gained my first experience in organising polar expeditions that I will certainly use in the future. I used pulks to transport my equipment and snowshoes to walk on the snow. Temperature dropping to -25 degrees Celsius along with high humidity can tire out even the toughest explorers. The reportage of the expedition was published by National Geographic Traveler.
